Non-Dairy Date Smoothie

There’s no better way to start your day with an energy packed smoothie to power you through!

Potassium? Check. Fiber? Check. Iron? Check. Caffeine optional?? CHECK CHECK

Ingredients

1 cup almond or soy milk
½ bananna
1/3 cup (5-6) Medjool dates, pitted and halved
½ tsp cinnamon
½ cup ice
1 T. crushed nuts (almond, pecan or walnut optional)

1tsp coffee (optional)

Directions

In a small bowl, combine milk and dates (and coffee). Cover and refrigerate for 15 minutes or until the dates have softened.

Transfer to blender. Add ice and other ingredients (except nuts) and blend until smooth.

Pour in glass, sprinkle with nuts (optional) and serve.
